The PHS girls tennis team saw its season come to an end with a 5-3 loss to Father Tolton Regional Catholic in a Class 1 sectionals last Monday in Columbia.

Meanwhile Palmyra’s doubles pair of Molly Gottman and Laura Noland bowed out of the Class 1 State Individual Championships after reaching the quarterfinals Friday.
The Lady Panthers lost, 5-3, to Father Tolton, which subsequently fell to Clayton, 5-0, in the state quarterfinals.
Gottman and Noland won their sectional match, 2-0 over Lillian Thies and Eleanor Young of Columbia Independent before walling, 2-0, to Vivian Jones and Joie King of Ursuline Academy Friday.
Jones and King eventually won the doubles championship Saturday.
