Members of the PHS boys cross country team failed to qualify for the state meet during qualifying at the district meet at Mokane Saturday.

Competing in the Class 3, District 3 meet hosted by South Callaway, none of the five Panthers finished high enough to move on.
Carter Harper led Palmyra with a 60th place finish out of 136 competitors in a time of 19:37.25.
Also competing were: Jacob Barnes, 68th place, 19:52.48; Wesley Summers, 88th place, 20:38.87; Landon Jurado, 124th place, 23:02.35; and Ashton Lovegreen, 126th place, 23:40.94.
Bowling Green’s Ben Chance won top honors in a time of 16:29.66.
Centralia won the boys district title. Palmyra finished 15th out of 19 teams.
In girls competition, Palmyra’s Brooklyn Platt finished in 104th place out of 115 runners in a time of 27:27.93, while Lillian Cramlett placed 110th in a time of 28:47.78.

Southern Boone’s Alexandria Volkart won the meet in a time of 19:18.77, while St. Charles West won the team competition.
The Class 3 State meet will be held at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia this Saturday.
