The Lady Panthers are seeded first and the Panthers second in the Highland Basketball Tournament Jan. 1-6.
With seven teams lined up, the Lady Panthers received a first-round bye and will first take the floor in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3 against the winner of Monday’s quarterfinal game between fourth-seeded Kirksville and fifth-seeded Highland.
The winner will advance to the championship game slated for 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6.
The other two girls quarterfinal games feature second-seeded Keokuk against seventh-seeded Clark County and third-seeded Canton against sixth-seeded Macon.
Meanwhile, the Panthers will open play in the quarterfinals at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, against seventh-seeded Macon.
The winner will advance to the semifinals and play at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4 against the winner of Monday’s game between third-seeded Keokuk and sixth-seeded Highland.
The boys championship game is sets for 6 p.m. Saturday.
Top-seeded Kirksville received a first-round bye and advances to the semifinals to play the winner of Monday’s quarterfinal between fourth-seeded Canton and fifth-seeded Clark County.
