Lance was born June 23, 1987, in Hannibal, to Mike A. Bowen and Barbara J. Adrian Bowen.

He was married to Mandy Whitaker on November 18, 2023, in St. Louis.

Other survivors include his parents, Mike and Barb Bowen of Hannibal; one daughter, Savannah Comeau of Palmyra; one brother, Brady A. Bowen (Kenna Bogue Bowen) of Hannibal; two nieces; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lance was preceded in death by his grandparents; Violet and Ollie Bowen, and Genevieve “Gen” Adrian.

Professionally, Lance worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Lance had a profound love for sports, he proudly played football for the Hannibal Falcons for several years; and could always be found rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Blues, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Missouri Tigers. Lance’s voice was among the loudest in any stadium, and his presence was a beacon of pride and sportsmanship. Lance’s passion for sports extended beyond the field and into his leisure activities. He spent countless hours on the golf course or outdoors fishing. He also enjoyed a game of pool and playing poker with friends. Lance also found joy in the virtual world, where he played video games and had an impressive collection of game consoles. A lover of movies, Lance had a particular fondness for horror movies, with their thrilling suspense and unexpected twists. Yet, it was the classic comedy “Christmas Vacation” that captured his heart, a film he could quote with impeccable timing and which never failed to bring a smile to his face, no matter the season. Lance’s vibrant personality was the brightest when he was behind the bar always sporting one his Hawaiian shirts. His talent for mixing the perfect drink was only surpassed by his ability to mix humor and heart in his conversations. Lance leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter on the hearts of those he encountered. Most of all, Lance cherished the memories made with his family and friends and he will deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
