The Macon Tigers will be Palmyra’s opponent in the Class 2, District 7 semifinals this Friday at 7 p.m. in Palmyra.

Macon (6-4) advanced from the quarterfinals with a 42-6 win at home over Clark County Friday.

It will be a rematch after the Panthers (4-5) earned a decisive 40-21 win at Macon in Week 3 of the regular season.

Quarterback, Colin Arch, ran for 156 yards and five touchdowns in his season debut as Palmyra turned a 14-14 halftime score into a route with 20 unanswered third-quarter points.

Running back, Nolyn Richards had his best game of the season against the Tigers, rushing for 190 yards and a  touchdown.

Macon’s six victories came against Kirksville, Highland, South Shelby, Centralia and Clark County, twice, while their four losses came against Duchesne, Palmyra, Brookfield and Monroe City.

The winner of this Friday’s game will advance to the district championship game and face the winner of Friday’s other semifinal between Maryville (5-4) and Trenton (5-5).
