The Marion County R-II girls basketball team earned its first win of the season, 52-24, at home over Bevier, Thursday.
The Lady Mustangs (1-3) got out to a 10-6 lead before going on a 19-6 run to go into halftime up by 17.
They then opened the second half with an 18-8 run to put the game away.
Kennedy Hathaway paced the team with 10 first-half points on her way to a game-high 16 points.
Riley Holt also scored 10 first half points and finished with 12.
Also contributing on offense were Triston Holt, nine, Sam Kindhart, eight, Grace Jensen-Page, five, and Maya Bock, two.
The Lady Mustangs opened the week with a 56-12 loss at home to Community, Tuesday.
This week, the Lady Mustangs are playing in the Monroe City Tournament. They were to open action Tuesday against Palmyra, but results were unavailable for this issue.
