The PHS boys and girls track teams opened their seasons by competing in the Bowling Green Quad, that was not completed due to rain Friday.
Also competing were Hannibal and Westran.
Girls finishing in the top five were:
Candra King, first place in the shot put at 10.82 meters and second place in the discuss at 32.12 meters;
Tenlee Voss, first place in the 100 meter hurdles at 17.12 and second place in the long jump at 4.32 meters;
Alaina Loman, first place in the pole vault at 2.90 meters;
Abbey Redd, second place in the pole vault at 2.60 meters;
Chloe Hicks, second place in the high jump at 1.45 meters;
the second place 4 x 200 meter relay team of Redd, Loman, Bella McBride and Taytum White at 1:57.20;
the second place 4 x 800 meter relay team of Tiffany Neff, Ava Weiman, Sandra Leon and Laurin Sheputis at 12:47.10
McBride, third place in the 100 meters at 13.75; and
Hailey Kroeger, fourth place in the javelin at 26.92 meters. Boys finishing in the top five were:
Carson Hicks, second place in the high jump at at 1.83 meters;
the second place 4 x 800 meter relay team of Parker Bier, Connor Bross, Carter Harper and Daniel Reed at 10:05.70;
Marty Smyser, fourth place in the long jump at 4.21 meters;
Luke Sheppard, fifth place in the 110 meter hurdles at 18.20; and
Reed, fifth place in the in the javelin at 33.11 meters.
