The PHS boys cross country team took seventh place out of 11 teams at the QND Raider Classic in Quincy, Ill. last Tuesday.
Palmyra scored 173 points to finish behind Quincy High School, 41, Bowling Green, 45, Kirksville, 123, Clark County, 134, Liberty (Ill.), 161, and Warsaw (Ill.), 169, but ahead of Monroe City, 193, Marion County, 195, QND, 196, and Carthage (Ill.).
Jacob Barnes led the team with a 20th place finish out of 82 runners in a time of 19:25.57.
Wesley Summers finished in 25th place at 19:25.57 and was quickly followed by Carter Harper in 26th place at 19:27.27.
Also competing were Landon Jurado, 65th place, 23:26.25, and Ashton Lovegreen, 73rd, 24:37.95.
Ben Chance, of Bowling Green won the meet in a time of 15:44.
In girls competition, Lillian Cramlet finished 63rd out of 73 in a time of 30:38.69; and Brooklynn Platt took 65th in a time of 31:16.75.
Several Palmyra runners, including Summers, Lovegreen, Jurado, Aiden Lynn, Platt and Cramlet also particiapted in the Fulton Invitational Saturday.
