The Marion County R-II girls basketball team notched its first win of the season, 66-55, at home over North Shelby, last Tuesday.
The Lady Mustangs (1-1) got out to a 20-10 lead and went into halftime up 36-21.
Kennedy Hathaway scored 10 of her game-high 20 points in the first quarter when she sank two of her four three-pointers in leading the Lady Mustangs to the early lead.
Aylah Pollard went 4-for-4 from the line and scored 14 points, while Grace Jensen-Page sank five field goals while scoring 12 points.
Also contributing on offense were Sam Kindhart, nine, Riley Holt, eight and Maya Bock, three.
This week, the Lady Mustangs travel to Community, Tuesday, and Bevier, Thursday, before competing in next week’s Monroe City Tournament.
