The Marion County R-II boys basketball team remained unbeaten following wins last week over Community and Bevier.
The Mustangs (4-0) capped the week with a 64-24 win at Bevier, Thursday.
Marion County blanked the Wildcats 19-0 in the first quarter and went into halftime with a commanding 38-6 lead.
Joey Lagemann led the Mustangs with 13 points, while Caden Stotts sank two of the team’s three-points in scoring 10 points.
Wyatt Goldinger scored all nine of his points during the team’s first-quarter run.
Also contributing on offense were Porter Britt, seven, Tyler Schimming, six, Dylan Stephens, five, Mason Wood, four, Wyatt Tuley, four, Levi Wright, two, Jackson Stewart, two, and Nathan Wright, two.
On the negative side, the Mustangs were only nine of 21 from the free throw line.
The Mustangs built a 38-16 halftime lead before cruising to a 62-24 victory at Community Tuesday.
Lagemann sank three three-pointers and scored 16 of his game-high 25 points in the first quarter.
Also contributing on offense were Britt, 14, Wood, seven, Goldinger, six, Stotts, three, Stewart, three, and Schimming, two.
The eighth-seeded Mustangs opened play in the Monroe City Tournament against top-seeded Palmyra, Monday.
